April 8

FREE

Anurag Agrawal, author, scientist, Monarch butterfly lover.

Don’t miss Cornell University professor Anurag Agrawal’s appearance at the San Antonio Book Festival. Agrawal will discuss his new book, Monarchs and Milkweed: A Migrating Butterfly, A Poisonous Plant, and their Remarkable Story of Coevolution. Questions welcome.

Read a review of the book.

Monika Maeckle, founder of Texas Butterfly Ranch and the Director of the Monarch Butterfly and Pollinator Festival will facilitate the discussion. Agrawal is famous for his contrarian views, such as proposing that we focus less on milkweed and more on late season nectar plants if we hope to save the Monarch butterfly migration. He also asserts that Monarch butterflies are ineffective pollinators.
